Playing at the MCG and still getting more AFL Money than the Bullies at the Docklands, which is harder to generate a Profit from, as well as playing two games a year in Ballarat. (Don't get me wrong, playing in Ballarat is a great initiative from a Club that represents the West).
My point being, as Bulldgo4life implied, you can make the numbers/memberships what you want, especially when you are getting more handouts from the AFL with all the advantages of playing at the MCG. Hence the "tack-ons".
Pre-Season, the AFL justified the Bullies getting less for generating more of a Profit. Understand what they are saying but as a Club we can't budget for guaranteed blockbusters each year. Therefore the Revenue is more volatile and thus, stifling the Clubs ability to invest in the footy department to the same degree and hence, having more control of your destiny and success.

While financially 1 rich bloke buying 50k of memberships is the same as 50 thousand individuals i know which would look better in the stands. Just all too convenient reaching the 50k as the deadline is about to hit. Call me cynical.

I didn't think we would get there but well done to the club. We need to back this up next year now.

Great achievement. History making for the club. As GVG said we need to maintain it next year and aim even higher.

10,000 new or returning members. 3,500 AFLW members plus this with a Ballarat component to their membership.
