For me it's the same person who told me at the GWS game that Smith wasn't going to be resigned.

Re: Assistant Coaches
So many great Bubba moments and memories. I loved the part in the Doco Year of the Dog when in the last game, I think it was 3/4 time against the Bombers. Wallace said something like, "just get the ball in this mans hands" referencing Bubba.
If Mercuri didn't break our hearts that night, Chris Grant would have won the 1996 Brownlow. (C Grant 2 Votes. J Hird 3 Votes. We lose the game by 3 points. J Hird & M Voss 21 Votes. C. Grant 20 Votes.).

Re: Assistant Coaches
Rohan Smith is a bulldog legend and highly respected and imo head and shoulders above Spangher and Webb.

I'm not knocking the other coaches at all and I don't know their contract positions but much like players a lot of it can just be that there is a right and a wrong time to be coming out of contract. After a long period in the job perhaps Smith's not reinventing himself as a coach like we need. I'd love to know the exact reasons why but that's probably not going to happen.

Yeah-bit of a concern. I’m hoping it galvanises our players.

Didn't we lose Montgomery just before the finals in 2016?

The Lade decision has always been a strange one, what intel were we going to learn from the Saints?

He was a sniper that bloke. I remember my mum, who absolutely loved Rohan being a local boy was nearly going to jump the fence with her brollie!
I remember that too GG.

Why was it strange. He has a good resume, lots of experience and was touted as a senior coach.
I would say he is the most senior assistant we have ever hired.

I agree it was a solid appointment and I think what might cloud people's view is that he didn't come directly from a more successful team.
