    Player numbers for 2022

We've had a few list changes and just grabbed Sam 'bargain' Darcy, so what numbers are we expecting to see allocated?

No 2 for Sam has a nice feel to it.
No 10 is now free, do we retire it for a year as Woody is a Premiership Captain?
    Lipinksi was 27
40 should go to the quickest recruit we pick up, a little nod to Harbrow

36 is also free - if we pick up Charlie Dean or another KPD type, having a big 36 running around in the back half just seems right as well.

Does any one currently playing look for a number change?

Darcy with 40 would be cool, same number his dad started with.

    Marra move up to 2?

    2. Sam Darcy

    10. Tim O'Brien

    25. Charlie Parker

    27. Luke Cleary

    32. Cody Raak

    36. Robbie McComb

    40. Arthur Jones

I think Marra gets no.3 when Wally gives it away.

I wonder what numbers on the jumpers mean for players like Marra?

The higher the number the more the badge of honour, also the closer to the senior core of the team in the locker room

In terms of its history of the number, Id imagine he is just more focused on creating his own history and legacy

    Marra says:

As far as motive, Ugle-Hagan pointed to an inspirational mentor and fresh start as to the reasoning behind the switch.

“The main thing was I wasn’t happy with last year’s performance,” he said.

“I feel like the change in number can be more of a reset.

“I picked the number as my mentor is Chris Johnson and he wore the number two. He has looked after me while I have been in Melbourne.”

“I’ve always looked up to him.”

While not a Dogs player, love the connection with Chris Johnson and the respect from Marra.
Plus Marra in #2 is gonna look amazing. Hope Lewis left some of those long sleeves for him.

That's a nice connection. Maybe we need to give Chris a job.

He’s the kind of guy who’s be an asset to any organisation, but pretty sure he’s probably got enough going on.

I'd be happy to see this in a winning Prelim over Melbourne again....

"I'll give him a hug before the first bounce and then I'll run into my pack and give them orders to rip him apart."
