    WOOF Player Awards 2023

    WOOF Player Awards - (WPA)

Here is the tally Board after our Round 1 game against Melbourne

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

Round 1 - Western Bulldogs lose to Melbourne

    Marmo

    4 - Tom Liberatore
    3 - Adam Treloar
    2 - Ed Richards
    1 - Tim English

    Comments
A really disappointing start after an encouraging pre-season.
The players recording votes are the lowest I have seen in the time I have been tallying the votes with only 6 players recording a vote.
Tom Liberatore (86 possible 92) tops the voting from Adam Treloar (55), Ed Richards (44) and Tim English 40). Bailey Dale received 3 votes from 1 poster and Bontempelli recorded a single vote.

We certainly need a big lift from the players in round 2.

Here is the tally Board after our Round 2 game against St Kilda

    Marmo

    4 – Marcus Bontempelli
    3 – Tim English
    2 – Hayden Crozier
0.5 – Tom Liberatore, Aaron Naughton

    Comments

Another disappointing effort with very few players reaching a satisfactory level of performance.
Woofers were quite divided in finding enough to warrant votes and resulting in 12 players actually recording votes.
Marcus Bontempelli (78 possible 108) tops the voting from Tim English (66) and Hayden Crozier (49). Fourth position was shared by Libba and Naughton (both 18). Others to poll were Josh Bruce (17), Liam Jones (8) Riley Garcia (6), Bailey Smith (4), Ed Richards (2), Rhylee West (2) with Bailey Dale and Robbie McComb each receiving a single vote.

    3 – Cody Weightman
    2 – Marcus Bontempelli
    1 – Liam Jones

    Comments

Some good performances but allowing Port to kick the last 4 goals resulted in another loss
The voting concentrated again on 4 main players with Tim English (83 of possible 104) again judged best from the goalkicker Cody Weightman (78). Marcus Bontempelli (58) was in 3rd position from Liam Jones (38) giving his best performance since his return to the Bulldogs. Adam Treloar (2) and Ed Richards (1) were the only other votegetters, perhaps highlighting that there needs to be a more even contribution to get back to winning consistently.

    Comments

A strong performance where the team was able to prevail after a serious challenge in the 4th quarter.
The voting was clearly for The Bont (107 of possible 108) ahead of Tim English(77). There was a fair gap back to Bailey Smith (27) and Aaron Naughton (22). Others to poll were Libba (13), Ed Richards (12), Arty Jones (9), Caleb Daniel (2) with Macrae and Treloar each recording a single vote.

Here is the tally Board after our Round 9 game against Carlton

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

Round 9 - Western Bulldogs defeat Carlton to maintain their tragic history (no premierships in the 3rd Millenium – Not even a Grand Final appearance)

    Marmo

    4 – Ed Richards
    3 – Bailey Smith
    2 – Tom Liberatore
    1 – Liam Jones

    Comments

A strong performance to again prevail after being twice headed in the 4th quarter.
The voting was concentrated on 3 main players although lots of recognition of the wider contribution from the playing group.
Top votes for Ed Richards (104 of possible 128) ahead of Bailey Smith(89) and Tom Liberatore (78). Liam Jones (16) takes the minor vote ahead of Johannisen (11), Bailey Dale (9), Anthony Scott (5), Bailey Williams (3), Arty Jones (3) and Caleb Daniel (2).

Note that there was a minor confusion on a 2 vote awarded to Jones. It was not clarified which Jones, but it was not material to the final voting. I awarded to Liam but if was intended for Arty it would have reduced his tally to 14 and still 4th place but would have boosted Arty to 5 and equal with Anthony Scott.

    Marmo Leaderboard

    20 - Marcus Bontempelli
    18- Tim English
    7.5 – Tom Liberatore
    7 – Adam Treloar
    6 – Ed Richards
    4.5 – Aaron Naughton

Libba moves to 3rd and Richards climbs to 5th.

Tuesday evenings around 8.00pm will be the cut off time to cast your votes after a game....then soon after the results will be up on this thread.

Round 10 - Western Bulldogs travel to Ballarat to inflict a Murder on the Crows.

    Marmo

    4 – Bailey Smith
    3 – Tom Liberatore
    2 – Bailey Dale
    1 – Caleb Daniel

    Comments

A strong team performance where they were never really threatened in a game that certainly loomed as a danger game.
Plenty of viable options for votes as good players on the day were numerous.
Top votes clearly for Bailey Smith (113 of possible 12) ahead of a cluster of 5 players who all polled well. Tom Liberatore (46) got the runner up vote narrowly from Bailey Dale (43) with Caleb Daniel (31) just pipping Liam Jones (30) and Jack Macrae (29). Others to score were Anthony Scott (5), Ryan Garner (2) and Bailey Williams (1)

    Marmo Leaderboard

    20 - Marcus Bontempelli
    18- Tim English
    10.5 – Tom Liberatore
    9 – Bailey Smith
    7 – Adam Treloar
    6 – Ed Richards

Note that I inadvertently missed Bailey Smith from the tally board last week.

    1 – Jamarra Ugle-Hagan

    Comments

The Dogs missed opportunities and did not handle the conditions as well as their opponents.
Voter participation was a little down with a concentration on 4 players.
A clear endorsement of Liam Jones (100 of possible 104) as our best with Daniel (58) ahead of Macrae (49) and Ugle-Hagan (46) for the other positions. Bontempelli (5) and Bailey’s Williams and Dale (1 each) were the only other players to record votes.

    Marmo

    4 – Tim English

    2 – Adam Treloar
    1 – Tom Liberatore

    Comments

The Dogs again failed to convert opportunities leading to another loos that most fans found unacceptable. GEE (F……)long. Why???
Voter participation also subdued (lowest for the year) and concentrated on just 2 players.

Judged best was Tim English (65 of possible 68) as our best with Daniel (54) the other prominent in the votes. Adam Treloar (23) headed the rest from Libba (13) Dale (10) and Macrae (5) as the only other players to record votes.

    22- Tim English
    20 - Marcus Bontempelli
