Newton with 7 tackles to quarter time is a fair return so far.

    Add another one.

Some of the players lack of spatial awareness is really glaring in this competition.

I guess Morris-Dalton and Newton with a resting ruck is our tall forward set up.

Bullshit, that was HTB and then she was pinning Blackburn down by the throat.

I wonder if there’s an opportunity for our BulldogsW game days to get their own thread over in the main board?

That’s a better looking team effort than perhaps what we’ve seen in recent history. Good fundamentals and perhaps a more robust structure. Lamb, Blackburn and Elsa really solid and supported well across the squad. Moody and Gabby hitting the scoreboard was really exciting. Newton does her best work up at the coal face, a big defensive midfielder with a hint of KPF.

That reversed free kick to Mackrill none of that would have happened if the umps pail the dropping the ball free in the first place.
The umps cause half the frustrations in the game of AFLW.

Loved the tackling by the team. Gabby Newton's game was great after missing some much footy. Her tackling in the first half was brutish. Burkey's move of Moody to forward/second ruck was a successful move too as Edmonds did well in the ruck. A good win.

They need to blow the whistle much more quickly, in all games.

    AFLW MRO

MacKrill should have been suspended, she was out of control.

She was very lucky she pulled the round house other wise it may have been a first for the AFLW.

Weak move. As a still fairly new competition, you have to make a statement on clearly aggressive acts like that.

    Re: Aflw 2022

I thought Pritchard was very good, and Newton in first half, and Moody in second half. Elle was up to her normal high standard. Brown and Grant did ok in backline too. First game I know but based on that I’m quietly optimistic about our chances this year. Our handpassing was mostly super slick and tackling ferociousness and effectiveness without giving away frees and players running to defensive 50 to lend a hand were both highlights for me.

Our new recruits looked promising - loved it when Wilcox took them on in F50 (I know she ended up having a free against her but loved her speed, agility and attacking mindset).
