    Toby Greene vs Charlie Cameron

Warning - you may need to shower after posting in this thread...

Two of the best small forwards in the game are (like it not) Greene and Cameron. They have surprisingly similar stats and records, but are quite different types of players.

Each are terrific forwards who can really turn and win a game.

Toby Greene, No. 11, 2011 national draft, DOB 25/9/93, 176 games, 228 goals

Charlie Cameron, No. 7, 2013 rookie draft, DOB 5/7/95. 151 games, 247 goals

Which one do you objectively think is the better player?

And which one is the more important to their side?

They are both the types of players who intimidate the opposition, but for completely different reasons.

For far too many games of my ammo career I was a fatty with chalk hamstrings playing in the back pocket on the quickest bloke on the field, so the likes of Cameron frighten the willies out of me. Raw pace like his is terrifying to defend, sometimes there's just nothing you can do but get burnt by it.

Guys like Greene didn't really intimidate me too much, but it was the ammos so they were pretty much done with in the upper grades by 2005 anyway.

Greene however, can play tall and small. And I'm not just talking about taking a pack mark like Cameron can, he's exceptional in the air for his height (see the mark and goal in the last quarter of the 2016 prelim on Biggsy who is a touch taller than him as an example). He can also get up the ground and do damage in the middle which is something Cameron doesn't really do.

Both great players, but I'd take Greene.

Greene plays like Johnno - good mark, excellent kick, nice acceleration. The fact that he is a dirty pr*ck is part of his game.

Charlie - is a feast or famine player. Can be on a day unstoppable, but can equally go missing.

I've have both if I could

Greene is incredible, and if he could just stop being a dickhead would be top 5 in the comp. Good in the middle, super dangerous as a forward and most importantly is clutch and almost always has an impact in the big moments.

Cameron is more likely to be available for finals (Greene has been rubbed out for some)
Greene is the better player per minute on the field but if I had to take one and put them on the Bulldog list tomorrow, I'd take Charlie.

Could Weightman become like Greene, without the aggro?

Could Jones become like Cameron, or will he be a winger?

TBH Greene is a gun midfielder when he goes in there. I can't see Weightman either developing that skillset or getting much opportunity there.

I don't think that's a bad thing. We can use a few forwards who specialise in being an effective forward. Tory Dickson never attended an AFL CBA in his career (I think) but was damn good for us. 4 goals in a prelim, 3 in the GF.

Pretty sure Arty spend his junior career on a wing. Seems to have a bit of toe and a serious sidestep, may well end up a Harbrow type.

If I'm choosing one for round 1 I'm going with Charlie. He would suit our structure better. Scorching pace and brilliant at ground level. We lack that in our smalls.
