Sam Power. Let’s name him. He isn’t Jesus. He’s the list manager and this is on him.

Sorry to start taking aim at the sacred cow…

More curious if it's directions from the Football department on who to target/draft more than anything. Wouldn't be pinning the blame squarely on Power but someone is calling the shots on who we draft and target in trades. At the majority of clubs, Gardner and Cordy wouldn't get games down back, yet they're regular mainstays in ours, this is a problem that's needed fixing for a long, long time.

    Actually, more like traded away:
    Lachie Young
    Lewis Young
    Marcus Adams
    Jordan Roughead
    Liam Jones

Some questionable players in there, but also some very-locked in best 22's. The problem is we've done nothing to really replace what we've traded out, hence why we are so thin down back right now, it shows in both the VFL and AFL team.

    Adams chose to leave
    Young wasn’t getting a game
    Lewis we refused to play
Roughead we should have never let go
Jones could not get a game (Bevo thought he didn’t have the courage to play)

Lachie Young, FFS - wow scrapping the barrel there. Jones was before Bevo, Adams was injured the majority of time he was with us, Roughead is just a tall that can do what Gardner does and jury is out on Lew Young.

During the last three years we have recruited Key PP in Keath, Bruce, Gardner, O'Brien. We have tried.

So if the list manager doesn’t get heat for the list, does the coach get let off for coaching… and the players can be ok with not playing well? Prob makes sense given our Pres isn’t anywhere to be seen. How about some accountability? McCartney used to get all the hate for everything list related on here… but Power gets plaudits for landing JUH, Darcy and Treloar (who literally had nowhere else to go!?)

It’s time Power said something about the state of our list. No way the club don’t have staff reading this forum to understand what fans are feeling. So… front up Sammy Boy. Tell us WTF is going on.

We actually made a grand final last year when we had some fit players and some coaches who were experienced.

The list isn't perfect, the coaching/ MC decisions aren't, but the issues we have right now are issues no team in this even competition are going to perform at their best with.

Not to say we can't improve, but we need to face the facts and they're pretty obvious ones. We don't need to look hard to see what our issues are.

Yes. Correct. Paraphrasing. Ar a corporate event I heard Bevo basically say that he didn’t think Jones had the intestinal fortitude to make it. Some players have it, some don’t. He believed that was his issue in regards to being a forward.

I was more so making the point that for every two we've traded off for whatever reason (forgot to even mention Hamling) we only seem to bring one back in. At the end of the day, you have our current situation.

I wasn't praising all the defender's we've left walk as 'walk up best 22' - I was pointing out our lack of depth, yes we've bought in Keath, Gardner and O'Brian to cover the loss of 7 other defenders.. In my opinion it's crap, disagree, that's what makes forums a fun place to discuss issues, but for me it's crap list management.

It has been a tough season so far. We put up a good effort tonight considering the five day break and the injury list. Top 8 is still a chance and other teams around us I’m sure will go through their slumps. Really need to get a win now next week against the Pies or else finals might just start slipping away from us.

Good that our % is still over 100. We have had 2 big wins, 1 close win and the losses haven’t been big ones. Need to get a run on now. Don’t want to leave it late.

I really don't know if the list manager is accountable for the lack of KP depth but he certainly doesn't pick the selected side.
As many people here pointed out during the trade period it was a highly flawed logic that didn't replace Bruce and put faith an often injured Martin. We were using Lewis Young as the ruckman in the latter part of last season and didn't replace him when he departed. He seems to be doing OK at Carlton in his more natural position
O'Brien replaced Wood which was a good move.
