The Club is excited to announce Western Bulldog members and supporters will have the opportunity to attend an open training at the GABBA on Wednesday the 29th of June.
Members and supporters will be able to watch the boys train at the GABBA in preparation for our upcoming blockbuster match against the Brisbane Lions the following night.
Open training will take place between 3.00pm and 4:00pm, with gates opening at 2.30pm.

The Western Bulldogs Shop will also be on site to give our supporters the opportunity to purchase their Bulldogs merchandise prior to the Thursday night clash.

Re: Training 2022 Season
Western Bulldogs members and fans will have a chance to watch an AFL open training session at VU Whitten Oval these school holidays on Tuesday 5 July. The training session will start at approximately 9.45am, as part of the Bulldogs’ preparations for their round 17 clash against Sydney.
There will be plenty of fun for the whole family, including face-painting and giveaways, plus an opportunity to have a kick on the field once the session wraps up.
‘The Pack’ - our Club mascots Woofer, Roxie, Butch and Barkly - will be roaming around the concourse too.
The Bulldogs Shop and Barkers Café will be open, and memberships will also be available for purchase.

Re: Training 2022 Season
I wonder why they've advertised this so late? A good initiative no doubt but surely a bit more notice so that families could plan it wouldn't be out realms of possibility would it?
Giving the members a weeks notice seems fair to me.

Re: Training 2022 Season
In fairness the fact that our club play interstate BOTH weeks of the Victorian school holidays means only a small window exists for the open training session to be held in between flights in and out of the state and recovery sessions that may had to be worked around specific timelines.

I agree with that but the communication went out Sunday which doesn't give a lot of time for the families to work with.

I think as you say they were trying to maybe give some exclusivity to the coterie people which took time to manage.
Left them with barely any to communicate to the other members.

It will probably be well supported but I see it as another missed opportunity to get things right.
At the end of the year they'll tick off a check list and say these are all the events we offered our supporters and it will look impressive.

Yep, we are in the middle of mid year performance reviews. A lot of box ticking going on for sure.

Re: Training 2022 Season
A good turn up (of kids) this morning but already 10 mins past advertised start time and no show….frustrating for kids and adults alike!
Anyone can support a team that is winning, it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage, so lets always be behind our boys and girls in red, white and blue.

Hmmm. similar to our experience last week in Brisbane where they were over 40 minutes late on the track.
Just because it's free, doesn't mean the club can just ignore how important people's time is. If you say its going to start and finish at a particular time, and you've invited people to attend, just bloody stick to it.

It’s now gone 25 mins past the advertised start time and still no sign of players…

They did say approximately 9.45am.
It seems everything is a chore for the club at present.

Re: Training 2022 Season
Well the team often doesn’t show up until the 2nd qtr so you gotta assume they’re gonna be 30 or so min late!

I think 15 minutes is a reasonable delay but beyond that it's harder to defend but I'm there will be a plausible reason provided.
