Rating our list 2021: Bailey Smith 06
Hi All,
During the off season I thought I would start our list rating again. I won't included the new recruits as there is nothing to go on and I'll leave out desisted and retired players as there is no point.
Like last time I'll count down from the highest number to the lowest but I thought the poll rating this time will go on a different tack and get Woofers thoughts on how they rank from Elite to Below Average.
I hope current performance doesn't reflect on last years assessment.

Re: Rating our list 2021: Bailey Smith 06
Bailey Smith was recruited to the Western Bulldogs with pick number seven in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, making his debut in Round 1, 2019 against the Sydney Swans and never looked back. The first-round draft-pick features prominently in the Bulldogs midfield and has played every game since his debut. Smith has proven he can match it with the best – highlighted by impactful performances in both the 2021 semi-final against Brisbane and 2021 preliminary final against Port Adelaide. Primarily a ball-winning midfielder, Smith has an ability to play multiple roles, including across half-forward and along the wing. The 21-year-old is strong around the contest, with elite endurance and strength.

A terrific pick for us and he has a great blend of pace and attack on the ball. I don't think he is elite just yet but he could be talked about in that manner later this year. He's very close.

Went above average.
97 percent time on ground on Thursday and was still full tilt at the end.
Anyone with that work ethic is going to become a super player.
Just needs to tidy up his disposal slightly (maybe slow down before he kicks!) and he will becone elite. He's close now after that finals series.
With his off field potential he is probably the future of the club post Bont.
We got lucky being in the top 10 of that draft.

For Bailey I have him as above average but a lot of things he's done could be rated as elite so he isn't far off crossing that bridge given a little bit more maturity.

Above average but not elite until goals are kicked when we need them. Grand final, recent games as evidence.
Will mature and be sculpted by the club if we are a decent place to train young men, which I think we are.

Hi Chef. Point taken.
If you mark yourself with hair like that, have to perform on the big stage when it matters.
Player most likely to have a night club ' incident'. Can see opposition making him a target, as he likes a bit of lip.

Fix his disposals and he'll be above elite, super-star level.

Top echelon in the league now. Plays more like Chris Judd by the day
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Elite for mine - sure he can continue to get better, but he's already elite in terms of running power, ball winning/finding ability and impact on games
