It really is an outlier in how skinny the ground is. Let's compare it to other grounds.

Width of ground. Wing width (Maximum distance from the edge of the square to the boundary).

    Kardinia Park 116m Wing 35.5m

    MCG Width 138m Wing 46.5m

    Marvel Width 129m Wing 42m

    Optus Width 130m Wing 42.5m

    SCG 136m Wing 45.5m

    Gabba 138m Wing 46.5m

So at Kardinia Park there is ~31% less width on the wings compared to the MCG. Almost a different sport and needs a unique game plan. It is a distinct advantage for sure.

Everyone knows about the ground size going into games. Geelong have to regularly adjust.
I get that it's not ideal but it's just another challenge teams have to deal with.

Cricket grounds and wickets vary all the time.

Haha. Imitation is the best form of flattery!

    Agree.

The ground is rubbish but you have to play there and there is no use whinging about it. Geelong were just too good in that 3/4 quarter. We matched them in all the other quarters, but you need to play 4 quarter football. Very disappointing, but I thought pre game it would be closer.

Touk Miller gone to the lead. He's a star can we poach him.

We've officially got no one on the leader board after Smith dropped off the bottom.
