    Gilbs is an absolute legend.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Not sure what I just watched but it was great to see Gilbs! Would love to have a beer with that man.

We probably could and I'm sure he could help Naughton but was he that good with his goal kicking with set shots?
119 goals and 66 points over his 206 game career with us.

Me too we would have kicked 5 more goals on the weekend

But GVGjr you raise a good point, was Gilbee a better field kick or kick for goal on the run? Can such a skill exist, where a player is a poorer set shot than other types of kicking positions ?

I recall he was coaching saints with tbeir kicming for a while

I swapped one of the jumpers from my collection for a Gilbee match worn jumper last year. Good swap I reckon A heritage round long sleeve Cam Wight jumper for a Gilbee sleeveless.

On paper, seems a good move… but a long sleeve heritage sounds pretty tasty!

Probably our best Indigenous player ever - even though we didn't know he was and neither did he.

And he wore #9 the same number as Les Bamblett who is flat out my favourite player of all time.

Loved watching Les play. It was a shame it only lasted a short time

He was awesome, for some reason I have memories of him out at Waverley.

Any idea why he was called Lallie BAD?

See the interview with him here and he explains it.

Edit: Some great interviews done by original Woofer The Coon Dog - shame he doesn't post here anymore
