The Moment: Rnd 6, 2022 vs Adelaide Crows

The moment, the best, most courageous moment that caught your eye in today's round 6 match against Adelaide. Was it the moment that told you 'we've got this' or 'we lost this one right here'? Or was it the moment that you went 'wow....that is crazy courage

The moment for me was before the match when Tim English did his hammy. The difference between us winning or losing.

2nd Quarter, McNeil kicked 25 m on an angle , misses everything. No one bothered to contest the mark, and the crows swoop on the ball and kick it out. We have poor defensive fwd pressure.

It was going to be one of those days.

Then see a couple of times Treloar not chasing his opponent, who becomes the link up player to kick the ball out of defense. Not working hard enough today

Another moment was in the last. About 70m out from goal the ball lands close to Duryea. He's slow to take possession and is forced on to his right foot. A loopy little right foot kick and the Crows take it away. It seemed like a real op to spot someone up inside 50 went begging.

The moment we decided to kick it to congestion on the wing with Adelaide's Reilly O'Brien lurking. It was a goldfish in a bowl moment. Each time we did it, it was like we forgot what happened last time. So It's a moment. But it's a perpetually repeating 'moment'.

That pass from Bontempelli to Naughton for his first goal was a thing of beauty.
It also underlined to me that Bont spending a lot of time forward rather than in the midfield is problematic for us.

    Yes, ankle and shoulder.

When he got that ankle injury against Melbourne, the game turned. He is so important to us.

We have to assume that if he is playing he is fit enough.
I think he is being played out of position for too long in games which means his best results aren't as good as in previous years.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that his pass to Naughton was a ripper and I think it's why he needs to spend more time in the middle.
He's a good forward but a great midfielder. Our lack of KP options I think is the reason why he is playing more forward.

It is a good point. However, who is preparing for someone not to make the distance from 25m out? It wasn't that tight of an angle that there was a good chance it would go across the face. What a poor kick from McNeil. Every week I watch under 16s kick for goal better than our team.

It's plainly obvious that he is spending so much time forward because he is banged up and unable to get thru a game as a mostly full time mid. With the level of injuries we currently have he is doing what he can to get thru. Oh to have the blessed run of Brisbane or Melbourne AGAIN.

The Daniel kick was the moment, we were likely to steal an undeserving win but that just killed the game. He like a fair few others(and the club) has had a underwhelming season.
