Melbourne will be well placed. Spending that level of money on ruckman might be excessive though.
I still think any ruck we get needs to be able to play forward to split some time with English. Going to be pretty difficult to find now if the Lobb deal falls over.

If we played 2 ruckman I could see English spending an extra 5 minutes per quarter as a key forward.
Both options of a ruckman and a back-up or 2 genuine rucks can work though.

He could be ok if Hunter leaves and we need another winger but he wouldn't be high on our list of needs. Is that the role you envision him playing?

I've literally never heard of him but my childish friend who loves to make teams based on names like that will be happy I've discovered him.
Roughead Suckling Wood that type of nonsense.
I'd never be involved in those type of shenanigans.

Same here, he gets a bit of the footy but we have other needs.

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022
Gee if Melbourne land Grundy for a top 25 pick and not all of his salary they have done well.
“A selection early in the second round is likely to pave the way for Grundy's move from the Pies to the Demons, where he will partner fellow All-Australian Max Gawn in a two-headed ruck department.
Collingwood is expected to pay a meaningful portion of the remaining five years of Grundy's contract, but when the Grundy trade is completed could also depend on what the Demons get back for Jackson”

It's a risk and reward play isn't it? Lose Jackson, get a discounted premium ruckman as his replacement would be a fantastic achievement.
They'll get 2 x 1st rounders for Jackson as well.

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022
North Melbourne’s Tarryn Thomas is a “live” watch to request a move away from the club during the trade period.
According to SEN Chief Sports Reporter Sam Edmund, Thomas is a chance to seek a move away from Arden St in what would represent another blow after teammate Jason Horne-Francis handed in a trade request on Sunday.
Edmund said while the 22-year-old hasn’t requested a trade yet, there is a “live watch” on Thomas seeking a move elsewhere before the trade period closes on October 12.
“There is plenty of smoke around Tarryn Thomas,” he said on SEN Breakfast.
“He has been wrestling with requesting a trade out of North Melbourne himself.
“At the moment it hasn’t happened but that’s a live watch at North Melbourne considering everything that is going on then.”
Thomas remains contracted until 2024, with Edmund previously reporting that he was “gettable” before Alastair Clarkson’s arrival at the club.
But with the current uncertainty around Clarkson as a result of allegations levelled against him by First Nations families during his time at Hawthorn, Thomas could look to move elsewhere in the coming days.

I’ll give him a call tonight and see if he’s up for a move.

We can lock in Aaron Francis to Sydney. The Swans are committed to resurrecting the career of another key position rival. Expect a deal to be formalised soon. http://SEN.com.au
