North can afford big dollars though.
You’d think they could and everyone can make their own choices, but if you want to ever play in anything close to a flag, surely you’re getting out of North? They’re going to be down for at least a decade.

Hypothetical time
If we could only afford one of either Lobb or Ben McKay who would you prefer?
Lobb's the better footballer.
McKay fits our needs more.

McKay. More of a need.

Lobb - because he's likely and Ben McKay is contracted, and I'd rather not get any hopes dashed.
I'm actually wondering who the mystery forward going back is...

Excellent answer. This is like when Captain Kirk defeated the Kobayashi Maru test.

I’ll take McKay while hoping like hell Darcy’s development somehow accelerates by 12 months and he’s ready to play consistently in the forward/ruck role by mid next year.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Yeah, I'm pinning my hopes on Darcy also....

I heard it was Aaron Naughton.

Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022
What about Hayden McLean from Sydney as a cheap option for second ruck / forward?
He has only played 8 games this year and has been overtaken by Peter Ladhams as the second ruck option.
McDonald and Sam Reid seem to be preferred as the other key position players.

McLean is definitely the type we should be looking at. Would have played ahead of Schache, Cordy, Khamis etc this year.

This is the pertinent question that still hasn't been addressed here. We know he's tall, but is he any good?
I honestly don't know the answer as our games are hard enough to watch, I have no desire whatsoever to watch North play.
His stats are fairly underwhelming, but of course stats only tell part of the story, especially for a KPD.
So is he any good?

To add further complexity the last week or two North have played him forward.
