Chin up comrade. Better than a dose of novachok for falling out with dear leader.

Mitch Cleary reporting:
Sydney has shown interest in Essendon’s Aaron Francis with discussions progressing. The Bombers are happy to facilitate a trade for the 25yo former first-rounder for a fresh start.
The Swans have been looking for some extra key back depth having also asked the question of Griffin Logue

You mean teams interested in pick 7, with Jack Bowes as steak knives.

This just feels like one of those ones you've gotta be in the conversation for. I had the same feeling with Treloar and I'm glad that worked out. Wish we were at the table on this one. Imagine if we'd had picks 1, 2, 7 in 3 years and not missed the finals?!

Unless we really rate Bowes as a player it feels like too big a hit to the salary cap that would seriously hamper our ability to do other things now and in the future. It's being reported as $850K per season for the next 2 years.

I think he is a reasonable player and I'd have been interested in getting him for a 3rd rounder.
That said picking up 1.6M over the next 2 years is crazy money.

He might agree to spread the $1.6 over 4

To help the Suns he kept pushing back money which got him into this position. Lets see if he can work with a club.
He might ask for a 2M over 4 year deal.

I agree.
Next year Ben McKay comes out of contract. If we want to pitch an offer to him we will need $850k per season I suspect. We can't allow our cap to burst and cut us out of the race for any player who might make a genuine difference.
Pick 7 would be nice to have. I'm hoping Brisbane can earn it for us.
