Re: Experienced Senior Assistant Coach to help Bevo - Who?

Good to see Bevo get some much needed help. Don’t know much about Lade, as a coach, but at least he has experience

Good appointment. Brendan Lade’s experience will be good. Bring some fresh ideas in really assist Bevo who looked under some stress this season.

Lade. A decade plus in the system at three clubs with stints under Hardwick, Hinkley, Richardson and Ratten. Good experience.

Will be a good appointment once official. I hope Bevo is open to what Lade can bring.

    As floated on @SENBreakfast
this morning, Brendon Lade has agreed to join the @westernbulldogs
as a senior assistant under Beveridge next season. Had been linked to the Essendon job and interviewed but is headed for Whitten Oval. Had been at St Kilda, but a good get for the Dogs
Ok it’s official, BF is where i go for breaking news now Ha! Some of the posters have been on fire.

What can he bring Slim? Genuine question.

Hopefully Lade can help English take the next step with his ruck work as part of his role.

Hopefully some disenfranchised St Kilda players that are close to him (that are any good) want a trade to reunite with him.

    Want to start this?

I heard Lade is like a father figure to Hunter.

I was thinking the same. Lade was a very good ruckman in his time. Marshall must have learnt a few things from him with his improvement, apart from being super talented. I hope he can improve Sweet the most out of all of them!

A number of things. Very much a level/calming influence he’ll be a good sounding board for Bevo. He is sound strategically and will aid in keeping morale up around the place. I don’t think he is a shrinking violet so hopefully he will challenge Bevo to improve when needed.

This is such an important first step in restructuring our club.
Getting a good coaching team around Bevo will really solidify the club and Lade's experience and calming approach as you have highlighted will be great for our younger playing group.

The next step is to find a replacement for Chris Maple.

The club announced a complete review and overhaul of the footy department and I think we are going to swing the changes in a very measured way.

Looking forward to see who we can bring in to improve our football department.

Re: Experienced Senior Assistant Coach to help Bevo - Who?

How would our club or any club react to Dani Laidley taking up a role?

Dani was an excellent coach in her own right, though whether she'd be ready to step into anything within clubland again is anyone's guess and she's possibly had too many years out of the game. However, if anyone understands pressure and how not to deal with it, but also fight it off and deal with it to come out the other side it would be her.
