I agree. I’m presuming (perhaps wrongly) that offer to Bevo from us is recent (after Lyon appointed). My reasoning is I would have thought we would have heard whispers before now if otherwise.

Re: Experienced Senior Assistant Coach to help Bevo - Who?
Stef Martin added to the development coaching mix
Bright guy Stef, transitioned to the game in his 20s, after not having the traditional TAC cup, State team exposure - on the surface that looks like the pedigree of someone who might make a good coach as they've really had to learn the game

It's a very good appointment and I'm pleased we are investing in resources to develop our players.
I really hope it's also a sign that we might be drafting a young ruckman.
It didn't quite work our bringing Martin in as a player as he had wretched luck with injuries but this could very well be a positive for Martin and the playing group.
Two additional coaches will be a huge help for Bevo.

He must have replaced Travis Varcoe.

The club listed Varcoe as one of the development coaches B4L. Have you heard something different?

I read on here I thought that Travis was going to coach a local team in the Western League or whatever it is called.

Seems strange but the club hasn't made the announcement. I hope we have someone else in mind if he is leaving us

I wonder if Mitch Wallis might be interested in it. The club talked up Martins role as an addition to the footy department.
Intriguing.,

Not much of a commute from Whitten Oval to Yarraville and I don't know if running training twice a week for the mighty Eagles is enough to pay the bills!

That's great if Varcoe is styaing and even getting more experience coaching his own team. Good for us and good for him IMO.

I think both Varcoe and Stef are part time/job sharing.

We need Varcoe to look after the indigenous players
