I suspect alot of the soft tissies injuries due to speed of the game and limits on interchange ( to few now ) causing muscle fatigue and stress
AFL limiting g interchange is just rubbish

Doesn't have to be grid iron. What was wrong in the Rocket years when interchange was unlimited?

It's got nothing to do with injuries though which is what what you originally implied.
Fatigue isn't really an injury.

Why has Bedendo been out for half a season, and he's still 4 weeks away?

He has only just started to increase his training as well.
After looking good in the preseason the injury really stopped his progress.

Well the interchange was not used as much then and I don't believe it reached the current capped limits and beyond until later.
I also remember when there was no interchange and everyone coped.

I have been saying this for years, the caped interchange causes player fatigue and can contribute to tissue injury.
they should increase the interchange number to 5 permanently.
the AFL players association should be all over this, interms of increased injuries to players.

There is an opposing argument to that point. Less interchanges creates more fatigue, which makes the game more endurance Vs explosiveness. If players rest, then they can generate more explosive movements which then creates soft tissue injuries.
For example. I?m never going to pull a hammy in the last few KMs of a marathon. But I?m very chance pulling a hammy at an all out effort over 100m.

Let's just scrap interchange and have 4 permanent subs.

Where did I say that. I was just commenting on interchange when it was mentioned

With 1 able to be called by the opposition? Jeremy Cameron has kicked 3 in the first quarter on Saturday night - Bevo subs him off!

The club has a pic of him on their social media page at training today so hopefully he is more like 2 weeks away rather than 4.

Re: Injury List 2023
From the clubs website
Ed Richards will be sidelined for at least the next month after suffering a hamstring strain in the narrow loss to Geelong on Saturday night.
The defender could feature early after the Club’s bye round with his rehab commencing today.
“Unfortunately, in the third quarter of the game, Ed suffered a hamstring injury,” Head of Sports Medicine, Chris Bell said.
“Scans have confirmed that this is a moderate grade injury.
“Ed has already started attacking his rehab, with us hoping to get him back in the next 4-6 weeks.”
Toby McLean is the other major injury to come out of the weekend, suffering back pain
during the VFL fixture.
“From our VFL game, Toby McLean has suffered some acute low back pain after a tackle,” Bell said.
“Scans have confirmed that he has an area of bone overload in his back that will need some time to settle.
"Once his acute pain improves, we will confirm his return to play plan, but expect him to miss some footy over the next month.”
Injury list
Dom Bedendo (groin) - 2-3 weeks
Ed Richards (hamstring) - 4-6 weeks
Riley Garcia (groin) - 4-6 weeks
Jason Johannisen (hamstring) - 7-8 weeks
Toby McLean (back) - TBC
