English had a very good season and the team benefited from his arrival but it took a number of years to get him to that point.
It's a very physically position to fill so it seems like a good idea to have an emerging ruckman coming through.

I?d be pushing for a pick in the high 20?s - low 30?s.

I wanna get a pick like that pick we gave Freo for Lobb for no reason back.

Hope so! I'd be pretty bummed if we just ended up with upgrades. I've always been a believer in Sweet and think he'll do well given a chance.

Right now they have Collingwood 2nd & Freo 3rd & Their 4th - and deals to do for Sweet, BZT & Rata.
He won’t get to them in the PSD you’d think. Freo’s third outright will be about Pick 45 or so if there’s a couple of FA compo picks pushing it out. I think the Melbourne 4th we have is useless for points so we could send that back.
A left field suggestion, is if we rated one of their free agents. Say Riley Bonner as an example only, as he’s a theoretical TOB replacement. Pay them just enough to score second round/end of second round compo. Then just happen to get that pick in the 30’s for Sweet.
Sweet for Bonner & 30’s Pick (just the small salary bump cost to us).
In all, not the greatest trading partner situation he’s picked.

Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023
DOGS SET FOR BUSY OFF-SEASON
THE WESTERN Bulldogs are hopeful that an active off-season will inject new life into their premiership push next year, with the club looking to immediately bounce back from missing the finals in 2023.
The Dogs endured a disappointing campaign this season, their first without finals in five years, but have the ability to get flexible with list spots and are in contention to leap up the draft order and snare Gold Coast's available No.4 selection.
The club has also been linked with uncontracted Brisbane forward Kai Lohmann and Melbourne free agent James Jordon, while likely first-round pick Jordan Croft is also headed to the Dogs under father-son rules after a solid season as a 201cm key forward prospect.
Speaking on AFL.com.au's trade and draft show Gettable last week, the Dogs' list and recruiting boss Sam Power said it put the club in a good position to attack the player movement market in the coming months.
"We're open to being active," Power said.
"We've got a lot of flexibility at the moment, with list spots and what we might be able to do. We've got a really open mind as well, whether that's through the trade period or through the draft.
"Going into every acquisition period, we want to improve the list and get better. But we won't go out and bring a lot of players in just for the sake of doing it. It'll be very targeted, which we have been over a period of time now and pretty balanced as well in terms of whether that's through the trade period or draft." – Riley Beveridge

Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023
The James Jordon speculation might indicate that Melbourne are struggling with salary cap pressure. He's a regular player for them and I'd welcome him in a big way. He's coming off a quieter year so I wonder what Melbourne would expect for him?
