My perception is that the club is waiting to do the draft pick swap before committing to him.

Another miss. We are struggling this off season.

    Not just this off-season.

Of course we may never have been in the conversation to begin with. But should we have been?

I think we've done OK in the past.

No denying we are just not an attractive destination right now though.

I’m not massively fussed about whether we land these fringe dudes or not. Getting the Suns pick is an opportunity to improve our best 22 with a really good player. That’s the trade that matters.

Exactly. Some very vague media link threw our name in, we may well have not been all that interested anyway.

Besides, the way Melbourne supporters talk about him is the way we talk about the likes of McComb, Crozier, Hannan, etc.

And that's the one that was a sure thing until the afel stepped in.

Yeah mate. I wouldnt have minded him as a free hit and he'd be best 22 at us.

Like i wouldnt want to use our picks on him but hes not shit. Just seems like every time we get a link they just end up somewhere else.

I’m surprised with the spectacularly bad finish to the season we have had, and being three assistants and a fitness boss down, that anyone would want to join us right now. I think from the outside our form risks probably look to the downside. Our money looks destined for our bigger name players so we can’t really offer overs and surely we aren’t targeting last contract players. The end of the season they way it did just didn’t cost finals, it hurt our previously future traded picks (giving away better picks) and probably hurt our standing with trade potentials. So now we hope a guy who hasn’t played in two years can come to us and make us more than marginally better. That’s assuming we can get him across the line…

It's probably ok. Now we don't have divided interests and can focus in on luring Matthew Bate to the kennel.

    Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023

Andrew Mackie has flagged they'd be open to trading pick 7 should the right player or pick swap come up and they've already had conversations. I'd probably stay away from that because it feels like Geelong don't deal unless it's hugely lopsided in their favour, but sounds as though something may be happening there.

    Heard he's choosing norf.

I'm hoping we get Chris Dawes.
