But with Sweet, it’s a net positive for WCE.

See unpopular take thread. The sarcasm is strong in this one.

Really sad to hear that, he was a phenomenal athlete. Missed out on the 2018 West coast granny. Just bad luck with injuries
some interesting bit of footy trivia : Many media commentators believed that Naitanui was in contention to be taken as the number 1 pick in the 2008 AFL Draft.[6] The Melbourne Football Club, who retained that pick, had looked at Naitanui, but raised concerns that his family connections in Western Australian would prevent him from succeeding for an extended period as an AFL footballer in Victoria, and instead selected Victorian Jack Watts.
we all know how that turned out, poor Jack, he went at number 1 instead of nic.

Did he go for 1 year to long ? kinda hard to say when he got AA in 2021 playing 22 games.

Conversely I sometimes wonder what kind of career Rack Watts would have had without the immense pressure of number 1 being lumped upon him.

He just needed to play us more, 20 goals against us. 14 his next best against an oppo. Just a lazy 40% increase in goals against us.

I am glad we nurtured JUH and made him earn his games . Also having Naughton as number 1 forward and Josh Bruce before him , shielded JUH from the scrutiny.

thats a common theme with much maligned forwards, there is a long list
Wright(5) , Daw(4) , Weidemann (3) , +Watts, Zaine Cordy(2) , come to mind.
Drew Petrie ( he kicked 47 goals against us) - he wasn't that bad

Re: Delistings and retirements 2023
Jack Riewoldt to announce retirement today. Has been a champion of the game.
Pick 13 in 2006, and to think we went for Everitt at pick 11 - what a miss, plus he is Rocket's cousin on mothers side (not nick's side)
