Trade Outs in The Bevo Era

Trade Outs in The Bevo Era:

    B: Cordy Hamling Le Young
    HB: Talia Adams La Young
    C: Hunter Dunkley Lipinski
    HF: Khamis* Stringer Hrovat
    F: Schache Roughead Sweet*
    R: Campbell Dahlhaus Stevens

Depth elsewhere: Schache, Campbell, Le Young, Cordy, Sweet & Khamis

    Injured plagued: Adams, Stevens, Hamling

Lucky to get anything: La Young, Talia, Hrovat

Did/doing OK: Dunkley, Lippa, Roughead, Dahl

    Had to go: Stringer, Hunter

    ??

In another world, Adams, Hamling & Stringer could?ve really bitten us but didn?t. Lippa & Roughy were seen differently by Collingwood and would never have been around or performed to the level. So at this point, it?s outside of Dunkley and maybe Hunter (we just couldn?t get him in the right space), looking like fairly good trading out in the Bevo era.

Another way of looking at this is who did we replace them with and whether it was an upgrade.

Adcock was a good addition because he provided good onfield coaching . The young players did be benefit from him on field. He was part of the VFL premiership in 2016
Koby steven loved his aggression on the ball , did not shirk and contest and was just brave. Real shame consussion ended his career.

Re: Trade Outs in The Bevo Era

The comments from a handful of those players about the way they felt about footy in general and their place at the club on the way out doesn't sit well with me, even allowing for the fact that they aren't going to be offering glowing praise etc at that point in time and I would agree that them leaving was a good move for all parties.

Dahl, Roughie, Hunter - all have mentioned getting to a point where they dreaded coming into the club, or the prospect of playing footy.
    Enough said about Dunks views.
Baz seems to have a story he wants to tell, doubt its good, or in good faith though.

Besides Dunks, not a single one of those players has come back to bite us or play elite footy elsewhere.

Dahl was offered 3 years but chose 4 with Geelong. Hunter had personal issues and was disruptive. Roughead, pretty sure he was offered a couple of years but regular spots was not guaranteed. Sweet would have been good to keep, but he wanted the number one role and he is useless around the ground.

It would be interesting to see total games played/achievements after leaving us, for the players we seemed happy to let go...here's a few I looked up. I agree with comrade that we haven't got many wrong (excusing Dunkley and Lipinski who we wanted to keep).

    Roughead - 4 seasons, 63 matches
Stringer - 7 seasons, 123 games, 206 goals (kicked 160 in 89 games with us)
    Dahlhaus - 4 seasons, 71 games, ave 14 disposals
