If there's a 'good bloke' precedent in play surely that paves the way for a 'shit bloke' equivalent.

I'm going to quote myself. Ridiculous that Hogan isn't getting at least one week, probably 2. How can you give Peter Wright 4 weeks, and that none?

    - Hogan was the only party involved in creating that contact. Cunningham was largely responsible for the contact with Wright, as he placed himself in a vulnerable position going back with the flight at speed.
    - Hogan's hit was nowhere near the ball.
    - Hogan's hit was in no way a football act. It was assault, or at a minimum attempted assault which should be treated harshly by the AFL.

Is it really the case now, that the only reason you will get suspended is if your opponent gets concussed?? Is that seriously the only marker that the AFL care about??

    It's ridiculous.

    Shithead Greene's suspension upheld.

Such a victim. Let's all take a moment to gather our thoughts and if it's your thing, pray for Toby.

If we could also take this moment to deliver last rites to the notion that 'eyes for the ball' amounts to anything by way of a defence for caving in an opponent's skull that'd be great.

I can absolutely have 'eyes for the ball' and still retain enough awareness and agency to inflict damage once I twig I'm probably not getting to the ball first.

He's hardly alone but it's basically Greene's default setting.

Just a thought but we must be the cleanest club around , we rarely have players getting suspended, apart from the AFL targeting Grant and Southern I can’t remember us having a bad run.

Libba rubbed a number of people up the wrong way. The clawing incidents against Craig Macrae and Paul Kelly and of course the infamous incident with Matthew Knights.

    Re: Tribunal / suspensions 2024

I knew he'd get suspended, and I understand the way the AFL are adjudicating on tackles (within the inconsistency of being a good guy), but I don't agree with it.

Higgins attempts to tackle Aliir, who charges through him knocking Higgins backwards off his feet. As Higgins is falling, he holds on to one arm. With the other arm, Aliir chooses in his split second to try and kick the ball - this adds a rotation to the tackle, and causes his head to slam in to the ground.

Just like my view on players running back with the flight, I believe the person being tackled also has a duty of care to themselves.

MATCH REVIEW: Bulldog cops a week

WESTERN Bulldogs forward Rhylee West has copped a one-week ban for a bump on Fremantle's Brandon Walker on Saturday night.

West collected Walker high during a contest in the Bulldogs' forward 50, with the ball eventually spilling out for Sam Darcy to kick a goal.

While Walker was cleared of a concussion and was able to play out the game, West has been cited for rough conduct, with the Match Review Officer grading the incident careless, high contact and medium impact.
