A comment was made on a show the other day that your days are numbered with Bevo once he prefers his "project" players over his proven players. Macrae played with injured ribs the majority of last year. He makes up for his lack of pace with his ability of knowing where the ball is going to go. He is also elite with his skills. Still have no idea what they see in Bramble, he looked ordinary at the Hawks game.

Why are we constantly comparing the selection of players who play in different positions?

If anything, it's Sanders and Harmes who would need to be dropped for Macrae. Both have had outstanding pre-seasons.

In round 20 last season we played GWS who soon after got beaten in the preliminary final by 1 point by the eventual premiers.

Macrae, Libba, Treloar all had over 30 possessions. At half time we had 16 scoring shots to less than half that.

In the end we lost because Greene kicked 5 goals and our forwards supplied very little- Naughton 1, Weightman 1, West 1. Most of our goals came from the midfielders and backline.

The end result wasn?t due to a lack of speed, just a lack of smarts. And not in the middle. Actually a hundred metres from there. That?s what I am hoping to see has been addressed tomorrow.

Watching sydney lower their eyes every time they went forward and going short or sideways waiting for a target to hit up was the blueprint to how I want to see us play.

If we can?t address that composure and run through the middle then effective delivery into our forward line we?ll have addressed nothing IMO
