Yeah you are right, just checked and one site says 37k

There’s NRL games being played in these cities. I honestly don’t get the justification for this round.

I sit in a reserved seating area on Level 1 at Marvel and it's often very noticeable how many don't attend each match.
I understand that but 9000 and 8000 in these 2 games?
The definition of sold out is a bit flaky. So There 8K/9K paid Sydney or Brisbane members that didn’t turn up?

Happens at marvel too, especially Essendon matches

I don't even mind the sell out talk, it's a technical term. What I hate being told is there's not a spare seat in the house when there are clearly thousands of spare seats in the house!
It's weird inane bullshit.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

Re: AFL 2024 Round Zero discussion
I sort of get why they are opening the season with games in Sydney and Brisbane. Expanding AFL in the northern states is a good thing, and the small clubs get handouts from the AFL from the ever increasing broadcast rights.
However, what I don't understand is why they couldn't have these northern games played during the same opening round and weekend as games played in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth?
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

Hard to tell if GC is really good or the Tigers are just a bit shit.

This is when you find out who were the role players during the premiership era after the retirement of their legends.

I reckon Brandon Ellis has incriminating photos of Dimma.

I know it's getting into tinfoil hat territory, but I am 100% certain there was something dodgy happening in the background with the Dimma to Suns move. How does he retire due to "no longer having the energy to be senior coach", then barely more than 2 months later he's signed a 5-year deal at the Suns? Wouldn't surprise me if there's been some under-the-table money moved around in the process

There’s one on the Gold Coast but none in Brisbane. And Paramatta isn’t really Sydney.
