As soon as GG changed his avatar that was the end for McNeil. If the founder of the Lachie McNeil fan club was out, so was the MC.

Playing Gallagher, Williams, Baker and Poulter in the same team reminds me of this Bill Hicks joke
?It's hard to have a relationship in this business...it's gonna take a very special woman...or a bunch of average ones.?

Is this a sign that the coaches want more running?

Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 2 vs Gold Coast Suns

McNeil just could not play after what he served up last week. Lobb had zero impact outside of that mark and goal in the first quarter. So that makes sense.

    Agree with Darcy in.

However, Baker and Poulter don't really feel you with great confidence as big steps up in ability. How has both of their pre-seasons been? How was their form last week in the VFL?

Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 2 vs Gold Coast Suns

So Daniel for Harmes; makes sense we didn't bother tagging anyone so Daniel can play that HFF sometimes midfielder role

Baker or Poulter for McNeil; again makes sense if McNeil isn't playing a pressure forward role and is operating higher upfield/rotating on a wing. Maybe gives Gallager more leeway to rotate off too.

Darcy for Lobb; With Witts out makes it harder for Darcy to get monstered in the ruck and his form at VFL level compared with Lobb's lack of impact means this was going to happen sooner or later. Still questions about the defence but Darcy also helps cover that.

Baker and Poulter were amongst the bests last week.

Nice to see Darcy in, but it was only a few weeks ago that the justification to NOT play him was because he could only play 80 or so minutes whereas Lobb can play 120 (words to that effect).

Witts a handy out, English should really dominate Moyle.

Gold Coast with 4 KPFs is curious.
Will Casbault play more second ruck than forward?
More of an In Bruges guy?

Re: Always Right Match Committee Round 2 vs Gold Coast Suns

Obviously our defence will be stretched but Gold Coast will have a similar issue. We have 3 genuine KPFs but they only have 2 tall defenders in Ballard and Collins as far as I can tell. One of JUH, Naughton or Darcy should get a much smaller opponent.

Given Witts is out I guess he will play more ruck than usual, but he can't just play 30% ruck and the rest on the bench. They may well be able to work it so that they only ever have 3 tall forwards at a time whereas we may only have 2 at times in the rotation.
