The Moment: Rnd 6, 2024 vs StKilda

The moment, the best, most courageous moment that caught your eye in tonight's game against StKilda .
Was it the moment that told you 'we've got this' or 'we lost this one right here'? Or was it the moment that you went 'wow....that is crazy courage'

Or was it a collection of moments that you thought 'oh dear that's sure to produce a flood of WOOF melts on par with GG's post GF loss..

Cody's 3 goals in the first quarter was the moment for me. He's got us off a about 3 fast starts now.

    Absolutely set the tone.

In particular the ferocity he hit the front and square ball to draw the free kick and goal to kick it off.

Naughton's goal on the run. It was a sign that everything that had gone wrong last week was going to go right tonight.

When Cornes wrote a shit article about the coach. Players rallied and played for the coach and the club. Big middle finger to Caro, Barnett and Cornes, go crawl back under your coach until you got anything better to write about.

My moment was actually two moments that combined made one statement.\

In the second when the Saints invariably regrouped and were trying to problem solve, they looked like they were starting to unlock the game on their terms. They were building momentum.

They got a couple of goals, and the margin, shrank to under 5 goals. And then we hit back with a goal.

Saints then kicked another, and then we immediately hit back with a perfect clearance, mark and goal. And any real hope for a Saints comeback culminated at that point.

That’s a great point, I think in the game day thread I said something along the lines of “here we go” the play had all the markers of a momentum swing and us grinding to a halt. But we never let them get off the leash fully, even if the goals did come a little too easily.

I want to say it was because the Saints were so poor, and they were, but it was up to us to put the score on the board, so credit where it is due.

When Ross Lyon told Fox Footy he was ‘worried about tonight’ before the game. Reminiscent of Bevo before the Eagles debacle last season.

Mine was Weightman earning that free kick in the first. He just went harder and faster than anyone else at that crumb. Could see then that we were on.

Probably pregame pics of English and Naughton walking into the stadium.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Our average winning margin this year is over 10 goals, average losing margin is 26, that?s not bulldog like. Sadly the losing games to teams we shouldn?t hasn?t changed.
If we actually look at and season so far we have lost to 2 good teams and Essendon was the only real let down.
We are not travelling as bad as it seems.

The last 5 times that we have won by over 50 points or more we have lost the following week.

Dale's long range goal early in the 2nd qtr. St Kilda clearly increased their pressure and intensity in the first few mins after 1/4 time and didn't capitalise on the scoreboard. Dale summed up that situation beautifully and continued our scoreboard momentum with that goal.
