He does need work, but given he dropped kgs and improved his running in recent years that bodes well for his ability to work and improve.

Out of the guys we drafted this year he might have the most upside of getting into a highly professional environment and getting the benefits from that. He looked great on Monday, lean, toned and he was moving well so I'm really positive he's going to be in terrific condition when the season starts in 25.

Re: WOOF welcomes Cooper Hynes to the Whitten Oval
Really big on this selection, was a bit upset none of the small forwards slipped to us but we have to remember we’re drafting for 3-5 years from now and when this kid is starting to hit his peak we’ll be at the back end of Bonts career and Libba, Treloar etc long gone.
Really like what we’ve done this year to pretty quickly rebuild our future midfield with Sanders, Richards & Hynes a nice core to start building around. This is the midfield which is going to be super important to us when our talls at both ends are in their absolute primes. Cannot afford to waste that spine with a nonexistent midfield, so I’m happy we’ve made some huge strides there over the last two trade periods

That last sentence is the key for me. Hence why I have thought it would be tough to grab a flag whilst JUH and Darcy are developing but when ready in a couple of years to dominate every week, we need a better than average midfield to make that happen.
