I mentioned that likes and thanks won't be in the newer version. They have been replaced by reactions

Re: WOOF Update
Cheers G for the update and all the work you do for the forum, even as a new WOOFer it's much appreciated and I can't wait to get more involved with the upcoming '25 season.
The iPhone compatibility is huge for a lot of us so it will definitely drive more participation.

LOL - I have some kind of thing called emoji blindness where I stare at emojis and can't work out for the life of me what they could possibly mean. This is not gonna end well.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Re: WOOF Update
Hi mjp-think I suffer from same affliction. Check out Smac Mcreanor?s emojis. Clever & fun & explained a few emojis I had no idea of meaning of:

Re: WOOF Update
Just an update on the update
Work has started on vBulletin 6 version and while there has been a couple of challenges it seems to be moving at a good pace.
The IT guy will start working on the visual component and theme and I've recommended a couple of sites to try and copy the look of.
Then all the data will get moved over so the site might be down for a few hours on that day. I'll try and give as much notice as I can.
We will lose the homepage option that has the Dogs Day board as the content management portal linked to Dogs Day was only developed on the old versions of vBulletin and when vB moved to versions 5 or 6 the developer didn't want to try and replicate it.
I've looked at some of the sites using the new version we will move to and the mobile phone app is very neat and tidy.
Fingers crossed we don't hit any roadblocks.
Here is a look at a brand new site that with some red, white and blue colors and some Bulldog images might be something we can look at
Preferred site look.JPG
The site can be found on https://vbadmins.com/
This works very well functionally on my phone and laptop and clicking the latest activity option configures the recent posts for the phone.

Re: WOOF Update
Great work , and thank you for everything you do, this forum has been massive for me for about 15 years.
I’m so happy you have kept this going.
Bring back the biff

Re: WOOF Update
Just as a side note, I'm going to test BlueSky as an alternative to X/Twitter. It's very quiet but is steadily building. There doesn't appear to be a lot of Doggies supporters on there but it might be worth having a look at.
I even had a website reach out to me on there about doing an interview as a Bulldogs track watcher.

I'm hoping we can get something close to the look of the site you linked. I checked it out on the phone and it makes it really easy to read the content.

Re: WOOF Update
Another update, the guy who's performing the upgrade is off sick today and I've been given an estimate of 5 to 7 days for the work to be completed. So perhaps by the middle of next week we should have the new version up and running.
Exchanged a couple of message with 2 vBulletin programmers and asked them what the benefits might be? Here are their responses.
Functionality: vB 6 actually gets updates—unlike vB 4, which seemed to operate on a “set it and forget it” philosophy. It performs better, feels faster, and won’t make you want to throw your computer out the window.
Design: vB 6 finally caught up with the 21st century. Sure, it’s still forum software, so don’t expect miracles, but it no longer looks like a relic from the MySpace era.
Features: Shopify integration? Check. Profiles you can actually make your own? Yes. And user reactions—because let’s face it, without those, your forum’s just a ghost town.
Icing on top: It’s much easier to run and view a forum on mobile with vB 6.

Gary will finally cash in on us selling merch with Shopify. Long con to get me to buy WOOF hoodies
