    Re: Trading

Surely we must be right at the tipping edge of the salary cap by now, so any trades on the table would surely be players leaving us for draft picks or a player on the same or slightly less salary.

We have an offer on the table according to the Walker family(not sure what it is but).

Just speculation, but if Geelong really were interested in Hill then we could have a three way trade with Carlton getting Laidler and us getting Walker (presumably some draft picks might help balance this as well if needs be).

Agree. I just hope we hold firm and don't get caught up in any last minute fire sale.

Yes, but if we want to bring in someone else then we are going to have to sell a player as well (salary cap). I don't have a problem letting someone go fairly cheaply if we rate the incoming player highly enough.

Tradedraft reporting that Pelchan was asked to not be a part of negotiations for the Hill deal. Shows what the football world thinks of him.

Funny. Hutchison has just reported that Pelchen was asked to be removed in the negotiation with Hawthorn for Josh Hill. Not sure who requested it. Fantasia takes Pelchen, check.

Hill trade is now apparently off the table, well at least in this one minute window.

I feel a bit uncomfortable about this.

Firstly, let me start by saying I don't like Pelchin.

The fact he is Hawthorn's list manager & has every right to represent his football club at any such trade discussions.

I would be filthy if we were dealing with any club if they said negotiations can only proceed if our list manager was not involved. As a matter of principle I would end the discussions.

Makes all future discussions uncomfortable at best.

Fair enough TCD in principle but we don't know what Pelchen's actions were, maybe he blew up under pressure and an apology awaits us ?
