There are heaps of good pubs in the Richmond area so that's an option. Maybe the Precinct or the London Tavern.

If you want to head back towards the city maybe Transport (Fed Square) or the Riverland Bar are an option.

I thought the Mona Castle was more of an 'a la carte' type dining establishment than a suburban pub these days? I used to live in North st and the first time we dropped in for a drink a bloke came flying out of one of the (shut) windows as we walked in!

I ended up upstairs at the Corner before last week. You'd want to be there early if you want something to eat though, there was a 40 minute wait on food at 6.30. Might go there again on Friday as my seat is down that end of the ground.

Still a suburban type pub with good food. Friendly crew in there as well. Publican is a mad doggies supporter.
