    Strengths and Weaknesses

With the season rapidly approaching and about to start - what types of strengths and weaknesses do you see the team having for this season?

Strengths - The return of Murphy to the side will make a huge difference, from all reports he is doing very well

Darcy - Whilst it might take a little longer for him to settle once he does he will be most helpful in the forward line.

Aker - Just his presence will lift the other players

Weaknesses - Perhaps the backline a little especially as Harris won't be there for the first two rounds but the general Grant should be able to control the flow down there and do his directing to the others.

    Re: Strengths and Weaknesses

Our strengths are where we are developing options ie if Doogs continues to progress he will create a lot of space for Murph to work in. If Wight continues to develop we are closer to a more flexible defence.

Our potential weekness is that we need a whole lot of players to continue their development and for others to come back from injury in good form, as well we are still dependent on Johnno up forward and Big Bad Brian down back.

Strengths: Speed and skills across the park, good developing midfield, good small forwards, gun coach

Weaknesses: Average ruckmen at best (at the present time), dodgy KPPs*, doubtful defensive skills and lockdown abilities, still light bodies, doubtful clearance abilities

    * One elite KPP is fading and about to retire, another is returning from 2 knee recos, WCE recruit looks promising but apparently always has done so pre-season, Skipper never looked the goods, Walsh & Williams a mystery to everyone, Everitt too young and slight.
The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.

Did Darcy do much rucking in the centre square on the weekend? I'd be surprised if he wasn't playing a bit of ruck by the end of the season and really leading us from the middle.

    Strengths: Speed, skill.

Weakness: Hard bodies, attack on the ball, height in some areas. (Although last year our small forward line was a strength, we kicked a lot of goals).

I was wondering who would get it.

    Re: Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths - The return of Darcy and Murphy, the fitness of Cooney and the additions of the class from Akermanis and the potential from McDougall

Weakness - Getting the veterans to maintain their form from the 2006 season, the unknown quality of our talls, too many players coming back from serious injuries.

Time will tell how this works out
