Taunts over Nick Riewoldt bump won't haunt Bulldog Brian Lake

It was Brian Lake's Herschelle Gibbs moment.

The Western Bulldog defender yesterday revisited a controversial free kick against Nick Riewoldt in last year's preliminary final, revealing St Kilda players were quick to remind him of the magnitude of his mistake.

"In the heat of the battle, a few of the opposition players mentioned, 'It might have cost your side a Grand Final spot'," Lake said.

Lake has laughed off the banter, but he will come face-to-face with the same players for the first time since then in Saturday night's NAB Cup grand final.

The Dogs lost the bruising final by seven points last September and Lake's bump on Riewoldt before the ball was bounced in the second half created a massive momentum shift.

    The rest

    BOG?

One goal from a dive and one from a speculative kick off the ground.

Morris did a mighty job on him all night and for mine shared the honours.

If Hayes wasn't BOG, I wasn't watching the game

"It's a body contact sport. I thought it was fair. It wasn't high. It wasn't in the back."

This is what i have been saying from the start. It was a LEGAL hit and if Riewoldt wasnt such a flopper how knows what could have happened. He is just another AFL Protected Speices like Ablett and Judd and so on and son on...

I still reckon the one off the ground was touched, by Dale if I'm not mistaken.
And the deliberate kick to boundary by Aker, Come on , it went 50 odd metres and it landed at least 15 metres inside the boundary before it bounced sideways a few times. I know, I was above it on the wing. Those Umps had it out for us all season.

"Ok, so I bumped your skipper. Now which one of you will be questioned by the cops next?"

Perhaps a witty retort might be ''I see youve lost your deputy vice [alleged] rapist''

I have come to the realisation this morning whilst reading Rucci's Top 50 Players attempt, that I really, really dislike Riewoldt. I hope Morris/Williams can stitch him up tonight.

    56. I hear he had Warren Tredrea in 3 times. Did Alipate Carlile crack the top 20? Surely Danyle Pearce would have to be close to top 10.
