Some good news on Mitch, his injury doesn't require surgery, and he is expected to resume training this week (with a shiner, you would assume!). From the Herald-Sun website-

That's a relief
That is excellent news - speedy recovery to him.
Awesome news, going to take a lot to keep Mitch down.
With Eagle, Johno & Ward all missing Round 1, this is great news.
Just saw on the Hun site that Fisher from the Saints could miss a month - ankle injury worse than first thought.

eagle did a hammy.
Ward?
- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -
Going for a scan on his groin.
Don't piss off old people
The older we get the less "LIFE IN PRISON" is a deterrent...
From the HS.
The Dogs will have as many as three of their best 22 missing in round one, including captain Brad Johnson (groin/achillies), who has had no practice match exposure in the pre-season and may have to play in the VFL on his way back for a scheduled return in round three for his 350th match against Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium.
Casualties from Saturday night's pre-season premiership include Callan Ward (groin) and Nathan Eagleton (hamstring) who will have scans taken today, but both appear likely to have their starts to 2010 put on hold.
Fantasia described Eagleton's chance of being available for the start of the season proper as "slim", while he said Ward would "struggle" to be fit to take on the Pies.
Great news. Hope to see you out there in round 1 Mitch!!
