    Eade: Come clean on GC

    Come clean on GC

Mark Stevens From: Herald Sun March 25, 2010

Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade last night said he would "work with" any player who broke with convention and told him he was walking out to join Gold Coast next year.
Although Eade is hell-bent on keeping his players away from the new club's clutches, he sees no point in punishing any player who has the courage to state his intentions early.

Eade said players were at more risk of being bogged down by speculation in their final year if they did not come clean.

Totally agree withe Eade. Better the devil you know.

If you know one of your players has made up their mind and is going it gives you the chance of keeping the rest of the team together.

The club knows how much room will be in the salary cap and plan accordingly.

Also gives you chance to ensure that player finished high up in your B&F too; influences the compensation.

    Really impressed with Eades attitude.
Is he also putting some subtle pressure on Geelong by pointing out an alternative
    way to handle these things?

I dont think Geelong publicly pressuring Ablett has been the right way to go about keeping him at the cattery.
