Young Kangaroo Ryan Bastinac is the NAB Rising Star Nominee for round 3. Did a terrific job curtailing Daniel Kerr on the weekend.

Was watching a bunch of primary school kids play kick to kick while waiting to enter the rooms @ Glenelg for mini-league on the weekend.

The player of choice when attempting a speccy? "NIC NAITANUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII"

    Dustin Martin is my smokey.

Looks as though he'll play the whole season with Richmond unless injured. For a first year player his body is mass seems to be two or three years ahead. Time will tell whether he has the motor to last the season though.

I'm pretty sure he's ineligble due to being reported.
For those who were always the underdogs and wore it as a badge of honour.

From memory he is still eligible because he didn't exceed the 100 point barrier. Happy to be proven wrong though.

"Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin is free to play this week after accepting an early guilty plea on a rough conduct charge.
Martin was charged with a Level One bumping or making forceful contact from front-on offence against Josh Kennedy, Sydney Swans, during the second quarter of the match against the Sydney Swans last Saturday night.
He will carry 93.75 points towards his future record, can still be nominated for Rising Star award, but will be ineligible to win it."

The link doesn't seem it work anymore.

It should be updated as the ''2010 NAB Roughhead Star" award for the year immediately.

A bit silly I think being nominated but cant win it, stops an opportunity for a kid to win it that has done everything right.

My opinion the Brownlow if you are guilty of an offence you should not recieve votes for the rest of the season, as you are know longer fair as it is the best and fairest award!

Save a few heartbreaking and embarrassing finishes you would think.
