WESTERN Bulldogs devotees can be excused for thinking 'oh no, not again'.

Jarrad Grant has unfairly drawn parallels with Tim Walsh for circumstances other than football ability since landing at the Whitten Oval with pick 5 in the 2007 AFL national draft.

It is only natural for Bulldogs fans to expect a top-five draft pick to burst on to the scene and set the league alight with little development.

They were spoilt with the immediate impact of Adam Cooney and Farren Ray at the 2003 draft and Ryan Griffen in '04.
