Julia is fantastic. Did anyone see her at the players race as the boys came off the ground on Saturday. She was right there against the fence clapping them off the ground.

We never heard much about her support of the doggies when she was a shadow minister.

I remember standing behind Gillard and a woman who I can only assume was her PA in a queue to board a plane. They were giggling like school girls and I couldn't help think that this person should never lead our country. Once I heard she was a former member of the socialist party I went off the idea of her being PM even more.

Footy and politics don't mix unless there is a photo opportunity in it.

I wasn't too concerned about your spelling and it was an off the cuff comment to you. There are Threads that I don't like but I don't ask for them to be moved. That is why I said lighten up. I grew up reading and hearing about Menzies & Fraser sucking up to Carlton at ever opportunuty and giving them constant free publicity . Most likely the reason why I hate Carlton.
I think it is great that our Club receives free publicity from one of the prominent politicans in our Country who happens to be our no.1 female member.
Whatever party you support, from the Club's point of view, not yours, it is great.

Young people tend to join the socialist party because they give a shit about working people and unlike the spoilt rich kids in the young liberals for example actually want to do something to help workers get a fair deal in a system that tends to put the interests of big business ahead of those who work for them. Considering the history of our club in the western suburbs and the fact that Juila has lived there for a long time i think its great /appropriate she supports the dogs .

When she speaks she comes across like a real person and personally i think we would all be better off if there were more Julia Gillards in politics and less out of touch millionaires who seem to use their time in canberra as nothing much more than a stepping stone to a career in the corporate sector.

Slater and Gordon are hardly the what one would call the public sector..the bulk of the work they do is reresenting the working class....yes they have become very big but most of that growth has come from class actions representing workers against large multi nationals with very deep pockets. Thankfully Julia is a product of her enviroment and I would back her to not forget where she has come from or who she represents, including our beloved football club!!
