Drop Western Bulldogs captain Brad Johnson: Jason Akermanis

Lord Voldemort - Herald Sun - 17 August

BAGGING Brad Johnson may be the AFL equivalent of shooting Bambi at close range, but his demise is real and the evidence is compelling.

Before you start accusing me of a vicious vendetta, my thoughts on Johnno's fading abilities are not a recent invention.

Previously, I wasn't in a position to voice my views on the issue - a very sensitive one for everyone at the Western Bulldogs.

The reality is he's struggling big time and is a passenger in the team he captains.

Akermanis has hated Brad Johnson for years because off the field Johnno is everything that Aker isn't.

It is like Luke Darcy writing about Plough Wallace - take his opinion with a grain of salt.

Aker .... feeling sorry for you mate. Sour grapes all over this stance of yours.

Do you ever know when it is time just to shut up? Do you want to have any of your integrity or reputation intact?

You have left this great game of ours with little/no friends and seem to want to destroy any chance of having anyone in the football world like you.

Aker is a bit pitiful. He used some of these 'one liners' in his interview this morning on TV. The tackle box bit. I felt he cut a pretty sad figure on Telly today.

There is some consolation, as if Jason is deranged, then the opposite of what he things must be true, and therefore Johnno should be in our team.

Thanks for pointing that out to us Jason.

Hopefully anyone associated with our club when asked to respond to this trots out the line

Well, you know what they say about opinions......... they are like ***** - everyone has got one. I guess he is entitled to his but IMO, he is becoming like Sam Newman - the go-to guy for controversy/stupid comments. Couldn't be bothered listening to either of them!

Lets not lose sight of the fact though that Brad is struggling at the moment. Now I wouldn't countenance dropping him. If anyone has earned the right to have a crack at one more flag it is Johnno, but the way we are using him needs to be looked at.

    In the normal way!
I'm told he and 3 other bulldogs went on a bit of a road trip to get some niggles sorted. They saw the 'guru' so they'll be raring to go!!!
