JACK Johnson is on the Western Bulldogs' radar. Not the American surfer/guitarist, the five-year-old son of Brad, the recently retired Dogs captain. So, too, is Riley Morris. He is two.

The pair are on the list of 23 pups who are, theoretically at least, available to the Dogs under the father-son rule over the next 16 years.

On Thursday, when their names are read out at the national draft, Mitch Wallis and Tom Liberatore will officially join the club their fathers played for.

Advertisement: Story continues below In a time of diluted drafts due to the two new clubs entering the AFL, the fact the club only had to give up the relatively low offerings of picks 22 and 41 to secure them reinforces the value the father-son rule offers clubs.
