    Goodbye Mitch, thanks and goodluck.

    http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-new...109-17m12.html

Article suggesting Mitch is gone. If it's true, I'd like to thank him for his time with us, and wish him the best. Modern football has probably passed him by, but he's been a favourite of mine for years, I've always loved his bullocky style of play.

If it's true, thanks for the great service and the memories Mitch.

Thanks for the memories Mitch, bit sadly the game has passed you by.

If he does play on hopefully GC picks him up and then we can receive a compo pick. It would probably be only a third rounder, but that's better than nothing.

Thanks Mitch for the years of fantastic service you have given our club. I have always enjoyed watching you "bulldoze" your way through a pack, and taking a strong mark.

Well done to Mitch on a great career - at his best he was a very damaging and important player. Injuries this year at the wrong times really held him back.

Poorly written article. Sort of mistakes I tend to make.

    Lake went the next year.

I noticed that as well. Must have been rushed.

I think it's the right move... it's now up to the young players to make the most of the opportunities they will be given.

Good luck to Mitch in the next phase of his life as he re-enters the 'real world'.

Actually Lake went the year after that.

You're right. They are the kind of mistakes you make.

Thanks Mitch, I will leave my memories of you at the 2009 final against Brisbane, a good example of your best days, he carried the hardness part of our team for a long time. Still a year or two left for you at the goldy or GWS I hope.

Very sad to see Mitch go. My son loves him and has the number 8 on his back, signed by the man himself.

I am a bit disappointed that we broke our word to him. Totally understand and support the decision, but I think we could have been a bit fairer to Mitch and been straight-up from the get-go.

Thanks for the years of solid service Mitch. Hopefully you've got an exciting new career path to step into.

It was the right call I think, although the late timing of the formal announcement must mean they think they have just identified a young kid they think they can nab late in the draft? Otherwise I just don't know why they did not make the call a few weeks ago?

The right decision, but thank you Mitch for all your hard work at the club, finishes a well respected figure.
