The "Name a Player Who Is a Little Bit the Same" Game

Welcome to the "Name A Player Who Is A Little Bit The Same" game!

This is my stupid, unfashionable, impractical and highly original (I like to think) idea for keeping activity on this board going through a period where the most exciting thread is the "training update 11/1/2011" thread, the most frequently made thread is "2011 best 22", the most insightful thread is "Player's who could make an impact this year no.III", the most contributed to thread is "AC/DC's best song poll" on the M & E board and the most feared thread is "Pre-season surgery for xxxx".

I'm not sure if this belongs here, but I've decided not since the days of the BHBAS has this board needed to see such an unneccessarily long title.

So, the game works as follows:

    Step 1, I name a player.

Step 2, The next poster has to find a player that has a connection to the player nominated in step 1. This poster then posts this player's name, and the connection he/she/it has found.

Step 3, the next poster does the same as in step 2, except the player in step 2 is who the connection shall be with.

The connection can be anything, provided it is a fact or enough of a universal opinion to be fact (ie. a player is tough).

More points will be awarded for how obscure you can make the connection*, but it cannot be stupidly obscure (ie. Player x and player y both prefer strawberry milkshakes to chocolate).

There is one requirement related to the player's chosen for the game. They must have in some way represented the Footscray and/or the Western Bulldogs in a playing capacity. This simply means that they must've been employed by the club as a player, even if they never actually played a senior game for the club.

Examples of connections could be anything from wearing the same jumper number, to having the same middle name, to having performed a particular feat in a game, to having a similiar or identical hairstyle.

An example of how the thread will work is as follows:

    Pat Rose
    James Condos.

Have both been rookies drafted from our VFL feeder club.
    Tom Hill

Have both held the number 35 at the Bulldogs.
Ideally you would quote the previous post to indicate which player they are connected to.

Enjoy and please don't let the length of the opening post exceed that of the rest of the thread.

*Points will not actually be given, but may be imagined.

Note: A player can be used more than once throughout the thread, provided a connection is not repeated and that that player hasn't been used in the last bunch of posts.

Gia - surnames start with the same first two letters, and he was drafted with our preceding pick in the same draft
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Matty Boyd! Both Gia & Boydy are "Potential 2011 Captains".

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
