Bluey Hampshire......
Both Red Heads...
Plus they were both starred in Ads.
Jim Plunkett was in the Aeroguard Ad when he was a kid.......Bluey had the closing line of an EastCoast Jeans ad in about 1983 when he was the coach. He stared into the camera and said "You gotta get in there!!!!"
P.S
I was a bit annoyed that no one could add onto Mark Athorn or Bruce West in my earlier posts....The next user went to another suggestion. I played suburban footy with both of those guys.

Urban myth, Jim was in an ad for Huugell & Hoyle, not Aeroguard.

That Aeroguard ad was about 10 years before Plunckett was born

There are plenty of sources that attribute Jimmy as the youngster with Tangles, but it is the Mark II version from the 80's when Jimmy was about 6 or 7.
Plunkett has certainly never denied the association.

I spoke with Jim's Mum one day & she assured me he NEVER did an Aeroguard commercial with Max Walker.
He did do a Huegell & Hoyle commercial with Max Walker where he asked 'What's re-tic-lee-ation Mr Walker'?

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

If I recall correctly Scott West's nickname was "Scooter", and with Lauire=Lorry, another form of transport, we have a very obscure connection.
