Dahlhaus would have to be a fair chance for a nom if he can keep improving each week.

    Rookies can get nominated TCD?

I don't know about Batchelor, but what I do know is Dahlhaus had a big influence on the game on Sunday. He kicked a goal and had direct involvement with another three. He chased tackled harrassed. Hopefully he will be nominated before year end.

Don't count on it. Libba had a strong influence in a few games and still got snubbed.

Bullshit if you ask me. Dahlhaus had much more effect than Batchelor did. For Christ sake's, he's leading the competition on pressure acts in the past 5 games, surely leading the comp on any stat should have you looked at?

Rising Star is fast becoming the AFL's equivalent of those Brand Power TV spots.

Dahlhaus' is underrated by those who simply look at basic stats because his main strength is his pressure acts inside 50. It's huge in modern day footy but it doesn't get you SC points (I think anyway!) and it doesn't really make the stats page.

The Rising Star selectors obviously don't rate Trent McKenzie as much as I do.

Dahlhaus is awesome in close,I wonder how long before he gets tagged.
Does the club have plans to make him put on weight, some kids just dont need it, Nahas as an example.
Give Dalhaus jumper number 6 I say.

Don't wanna turn this into a Dalhaus thread (well, thats a lie) but I'd love to see him in #6 too, he has shown a lot in little time just like Libba & Wallis did and I was very proud pointing out his efforts sitting with a bunch of Carlton fans who were astonished at some of his plays Deserving of at least a Rising Star Nom.

Interesting article in the Herald Sun today, see here.

James Fantasia is looking for some clarification from the AFL on how each weeks nomination is decided:

'But it can be mystifying why a player is selected in any given week. Western Bulldogs football manager James Fantasia has called on the league to explain the criteria for Rising Star nominations.

"How do they decide? It would be good to have clarity around how they measure it, or who qualifies each week," Fantasia said.

Doesn't the club ask the same question every year.
For those who were always the underdogs and wore it as a badge of honour.

Re: 2011 - NAB Rising Star

Well how does the whole thing work?
One is nominated per week on weekly effort,
Then one winner is selected out of the group of 22?????
So if one kid is above consistent all year and doesn't have one blinder of a game then he wont be nominated therefore can win???
(sorry for using the word "one" alot)
