Greats vow to help Western Bulldogs bury big debt

FORMER Western Bulldogs captain Steve Wallis said the stars of his era had decided it was payback time.

Wallis confirmed several would be key contributors to the club's "Bulldoze The Debt" function on April 30, confident the club was on the right path.

"We have had several phone calls among my generation and they're all putting their hand in their pocket, which is something which hasn't always been the case at our club," Wallis said.

"There was a generation of 'what's in it for me?' and I reckon that might've moved a little bit to 'what can we do for them?'.

No need for him to pay for Mitch to get a game.

Like this quote from The Great Man:

"You've got more confidence putting your hand in your pocket ... it's not just going to be mis-spent."
It sums up beautifully what's been wrong with our club for decades, and also sums up beautifully what's now right with it. Very happy to see the former champions finally seeing the club as worthy of the task.

Bulldogs chief executive Simon Garlick said the club decided to gets its "core business" right before tackling fundraising.
In the same vein as the last quote, I'm so absolutely rapt that the Dogs have changed their culture like they have. It's an incredibly difficult thing for any organisation to do, and they all deserve a massive pat on the back.

How is the hair on Wallis and Libba jnr. Used to have the wog squad with Dimma, Libba Snr and Jose, thinking Wallis Jnr, Libba Jnr and Ward could be the "Bouffant Brothers"

Good to see some of the old boys coming back to the club.

There are some very successful and high profile businessmen amongst them, lets hope they get on board and dig deep.
