Barry Hall to give Collingwood a miss

    Mark Stevens From: Herald Sun

WESTERN Bulldogs full-forward Barry Hall is almost certain to miss Sunday's MCG clash with Collingwood.

Hall has been suffering from ankle soreness in recent weeks and his movement was severely restricted against Fremantle on Monday night.

Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade indicated Hall was in need of a rest and his cause will not be helped by a six-day break.

"Barry's probably more than likely not to play," Eade told Triple M.

"He jarred his ankle, which is the ankle he had operated on previously, against the Gold Coast."

Eade confirmed Hall would have missed Round 4 had the Dogs not had the bye.

It could be an interesting game against the pies, Jones would be the next choice to come in. But Rocket may decide to go small which will mean that the delivery into our forwards will have to be precise.

Didn't he just have a 16 day rest.

Anyone think Mitch Hahn will come in?

For him to be elevated from the Rookie List, is there any player who would be placed on the long term injury list?

Apart from Roughead, Rocket may go small to counter Collingwoods rebound...and hopefully lift our inside 50 tackle count...

We rolled the dice in the hope we would win then we probably would have rested him.
Unfortunately it was a double whammy.

Yeah that's really disappointing. Williams also was under a cloud with back problems earlier in the week, he got re-injured and will probably miss the game as well. It's easy to say not play them in hindsight but Hall is our oldest player, I would have left him home rather than take him over to WA if there was a problem.

Hall was under an injury cloud against GC as well. Should have been rested way back then

Hargrave is just about ready to play. I believe that if Hall isn't playing it serves us better to stick with Jones than to promote Hahn for a week or two.

Agreed. It would be good if Panos can start playing regular senior games at Williamstown too.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
