Giants forward Bobby Hill diagnosed with testicular cancer

GWS forward Bobby Hill will undergo surgery next week after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Hill played for the Giants in Saturday’s loss to Brisbane, with news of the diagnosis being revealed on Sunday morning.

With surgery set for the coming days, Hill will be unavailable for an indefinite period as he recovers.

Giants GM of football Jason McCartney says Hill is in good spirits as the club puts their support behind the 22-year-old.

“Bobby and his family have our full support, as always, as they go through this period.

“His health and wellbeing is our absolute priority and he’ll have the best medical care as he undergoes surgery on Tuesday and beyond.

“There’ll be a period of time for him to recover before further medical assessment to understand if any additional steps are required.

“Bobby is in good spirits and knows he has the support and love of the entire Giants family.”

GWS next have the bye with a Round 13 clash against North Melbourne awaiting them after that.
