Bombshell news from the Social Club Party: no Mission burrito for the guests; instead replaced with a pie or sausage roll...the real cost of our Mercedes Benz sponsorship borne by our most loyal members!

Gordon was very confident that we would be getting state government funding for significant improvements to the Whitten Oval.

Did Peter mention what they were? Could it have something to do with a vision he had in a recent article that was posted on here of getting some AFL footy back at Whitten Oval?

Any woofers planning to go to the East West day on Saturday? Could be good opportunity to catch up maybe.

No, but he said that they would be good for members to come to watch AFLW and VFL games. I'm pretty sure he did not refer to AFL games. The ground obviously needs better toilet facilities and a scoreboard and my guess is that it will include better seating.
I wouldn't mind if the funding also improved the training facilities (including perhaps for swimming). Several clubs have and are going past on us on this front.

Re: Events Thread
Went along to the East meets West day at Wesley College, Glen Waverley. Not much to report on. No speeches were made. Had a sausage sizzle, there was a raffle and Bulldogs merchandise to buy. Crowd I don't believe as big compared to January 2017 - no premiership cup this year. Just mainly the kids clinic with the few players that came and got some signatures from Jack Redpath, Fletcher Roberts, Bailey Williams, Lukas Webb and Zaine Cordy. Clay Smith was there also but couldn't manage to get a signature. Callum Porter also came.
