Gowers and Jong would help us most by finding a club that is not Western Bulldogs and will give them playing opportunities.

Re: Player Contract Status
Despite both Lynch and Jong having contracts I'm not sure they fit into our plans. Perhaps one of them might slide to the rookie list
I think Lynch has some senior AFL type attributes but he just doesn't get enough of the ball. We all love the physical style of Jong but he's really struggled with his injuries
Some tough decisions need to be made

Re: Player Contract Status
Football is fickle. This time last year we would have pencilled Gowers and Lynch into a starting 18, based on their form last year and had Jong in the top 25.
The reality is because of form/effort/injury/who knows they have fallen down the pecking order. 2 at least wont be in our plans next year.

Maybe you guys would have.

I saw a bit of him at Footscray and I couldn't really see the need to draft another forward that couldn't kick (the first time I saw him play he took a mark and as he was going back to have his shot a bloke standing near me said "spread out, this could go anywhere") but I thought he had improved a lot last year to the player I saw first at Footscray.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Re: Player Contract Status
I still think that Gowers has somethings my to offer. At his end of year review I would put the acid on him and say you need to come back ripping fitness as your gonna play midfield in the VFL. I think he could be a Mitch Harn type of guy and if nothing else it would add value to trading him if it didn’t work out that well at the end of 2020

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

Re: Player Contract Status
Would love to know where Cal Porter is at. Such big wraps on his leadership and potential when we drafted him. Seen him as an emergency a couple of times but doesn't look close to it from a distance.

Has played well this year in the VFL, but I am not sure what his point of difference is. I am also not sure why we gave him another contract

Re: Player Contract Status
Is anyone else a bit surprised that we didn’t hear of any delistings this week after players had their exit interviews? I would have thought that there would have been at least one ie Webb. Are we holding onto everyone for now as insurance against what might arise as offers to our uncontracted players?
Anyone can support a team that is winning, it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage, so lets always be behind our boys and girls in red, white and blue.
