Genuine utility who uses the ball well. He's best 22 at most clubs, wouldn't pay the reported $700k pa for him though.

Re: Proactive Poaching
Update of our apparent rejections:
Forwards: Tippa, Martin (both apparently offered more money by us) - Josh Bruce rumour still alive
Mids: Langdon (good) - Isaac Smith rumour still alive
Defenders: Tomlinson (not sure why he's picked them as yet) - Alex Keath rumour still alive
Other names out in the rumour mill? Do we make a late play at Papley?

* Tippa was never going to leave.
* Smith a rumour as was Tomlinson
*Keath more than a rumour
Yes to Papley, but I doubt he wants to leave.

FWIW bloke with good info claims that we asking again about Hurley and the Bombers may be receptive.

Be almost worth it just to wind up my Essendon mates. When Crameri kicked 7 against them I proceeded to mark the occasion with the 7 days of Crammersmas, each day a short verse, a video of one of the goals and an image of Stewart as the second coming.

Depends if he passes a medical and the cost. The following is for conversation only:
If Dodoro is desperate to 'win' trade week we could offer up pick 12 so they can 'steal' Jack Martin from Carlton (salary from Hurley is the salary cap room). But only for absurd win for our club. Their picks of possibly 29 & 31 are equal to pick 12. But we'd want to burn them or no deal.
Something like picks 12 & 84 (maybe encourage Fletch Roberts there as a free agent as one rumour goes) for 29, 31 & Hurley - Essentially trading us Hurley for Pick 84 (owing to the points equation), with second rounder trades lined up to be executed. Points trade with Port for 27 and future 3rd.
=
Michael Hurley
Pick 27 (Josh Bruce)
Pick 29 (Alex Keath)
Pick 30 (Isaac Smith and Pick 45)
Pick 31 (live draft pick - best available)
Pick 45 (live draft pick - mature ruckman)
Rookie Upgrade (La Young)
2020 3rd Rounder Port Adelaide
Four mature players, a draft pick in the second and third rounds (getting English a mature back up) and a future third rounder. Specifically for our pick 12 we'd get Hurley, both Keath & Smith/Pick 45 and a second round pick, Pick 31.
I wonder if they are that desperate to win trade week they'd trade us Hurley for next to nothing, just to be seen to get the 'win'.
No doubt Dodo is going to go hunting picks around our pick 12 to steal Jack Martin as the article alluded to today with Martin stalling on telling Carlton yes. The only question for us is slam the door in his face or hold his feet to the fire? I think we should have an insanely good offer in our favour just sitting around just in case the desperation to 'win' does us a favour. We can walk away with pick 12 happy. They might not get Martin without us.

His injuries are a concern but it's probably worth a conversation.
He wouldn't command a first rounder and given his ability to be swayed at the last minute I suspect it is very much buyer beware
I'd hate to inflate his next Bomber contract

FWIW it was suggested this is Bruce like deal ie a salary dump.

Apparently we are offering Keath 600k over 4 years. Will he take it?

He's had one good year and the Crows aren't putting up a lot of fight to keep him.
They either know a lot more that us or are very tight for the cap
It's a great offer and he would want to accept it quickly but who knows for sure

Is he contracted or not? I’ve seen conflicting reports.
